Dr. Hopkins is a trained scholar and and academician in the area of Bible and Theology. He has taught and lectured throughout America as well as in such countries as England, Sloveina, Italy and Scotland.
Dr. Hopkins has conducted lectures, workshops and seminars on various topics such as Exploring and Discovering the Black Presence in the Bible and Understanding the Influence and Nature of Hip Hop in the Church.

Other seminars and workshops (by Dr. Hopkins) have included Understanding the Dead Sea Scrolls, particularly in the context of their relation to the Bible and Christianity, and the Social and Cultural Understanding and Perspective of Race, Class, Gender and Ethnicity in Scripture (a course that he first developed for Memphis Theological Seminary).

Dr. Hopkins is also an Ordained Reverend (Elder) and has preached at numerous churches and church related events in Los Angeles, California; Washington, D.C.; Manchester, England and Memphis, Tennessee. He has been a featured speaker at NAACP events, mens conferences, youth conventions and women's day programs. He is available for preaching, lecturing, conducting seminars or workshops.
